Welcome to Japan!

Moving to Japan and expanding my Wedding and Elopement photography beyond the borders of the UK has been an absolute joy and I still can’t believe some of the beautiful scenes I have been able to capture here.

I offer my own smaller scale elopement ceremonies for the more adventurous souls out there. I’m a keen hiker and a lover of the great outdoors! I love the idea of hiking out to a secluded area, exchanging vows surrounded by some of Japan’s beautiful scenery and finishing the day in a hot spring - perfect!

The stories below are a collection of Elopements and micro weddings that I have planned and photographed here in Japan. Hopefully they serve as an inspiration for what is possible! I have also added a few handy guides and resources to help you prepare for you photoshoot with me here in Japan including an introduction to how I work, a guide to posing and how I might be using the light to my advantage.

Finally, I enjoy every single Wedding and Elopement that I photograph and cannot wait to be part of your special day here in Japan!

Hopefully these stories will give you a good idea of what is possible and what to expect from my Wedding Photography. The full gallery will include many more images and there’s always the option of hiring my good friend Tyson Faa at Wonder Weddings to document these moments on video too. Check out his video below to see what a collaboration between myself and Tyson looks like!

A FEW WORDS FROM ME…

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would become a Wedding photographer in Japan but here I am! Becoming a Wedding and Elopement photographer has truly been the most rewarding and satisfying job that I have done through my career (and there’s been many twists and turns - military, International Red Cross, teaching). I love every single shoot that I do and always set out to do the best job I possibly can for every couple. Everyone is unique and I tailor my approach to each couple to make them feel comfortable, relaxed and most importantly, happy with the final photos! I also aim to keep a balance with my work schedule so that I arrive fresh to every shoot and not tired from the previous day or back to back sessions - this allows me to give everything I can during your special day in Japan - I won’t let you down!

You may have already seen my pages or links showing my collaboration with the teams at elope in Japan (the lovely Ayako and Ross) and James Hirata (Nomad Weddings) who have exclusive access to some wonderful venues. If you’re looking to get married in a temple or secluded traditional garden, you might want to get in touch with them!

I hope you find the stories and resources above useful and if you like what you see, I’d be delighted to work with you and document your Wedding day here in Japan. Of course if you like the venues that Ayako and Ross offer then please go ahead and contact them directly and I’ll be happy to cover the photography aspect for you!
