A luxury Destination Wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kyoto, Japan

Photography highlights from a beautiful destination Wedding in the heart of Kyoto, the Four Seasons hotel, Japan.

A destination that needs no introduction, Kyoto. A cultural centre filled with charming back streets, traditional architecture, countless temples and shrines, luxury hotels, bespoke ryokans and plenty of nature, Kyoto has it all. Perfect for a destination Wedding and I couldn’t wait to photograph M&B’s special day at the Four Seasons hotel in Kyoto.

We started the photography the day before the Wedding day itself, choosing to warm up with a morning photoshoot around Ninenzaka (Higashiyama) making the most of it’s well kept historical backstreets and beautiful views. Kyoto does tend to get quite busy so we woke up rather early for this but it was totally worth the effort to beat the crowds. Later in the day I also documented a little welcome dinner for them at the Hyatt Regency hotel. I’m always happy to document events surrounding a wedding since it allows me to get to know everyone so we’re all comfortable when the big day itself happens.

Then for the Wedding Day itself! I’m primarily a documentary photographer simply documenting the day as it unfolds naturally whilst still allowing time for group photos and some portraits. You can read more about my style of photography here but in short, I like to keep things natural, fun, relaxed but with an editorial and creative flare to them.

I’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking! If you’re planning a destination wedding at the Four Seasons hotel in Kyoto then I’d love to help - I am experienced with the venue and have good links with the staff and planners there to help facilitate the day (and photography) as best as possible.
