Weddings are more than a celebration of love. They’re rare, treasured moments where everyone you care about is gathered together to celebrate two families becoming intertwined forever.
I’m Sam, a British wedding photographer living in Tokyo and spending the summer months photographing weddings in Kent, London, and beyond.
Whilst there are certain differences between Japan and the UK, my intention is unwavering: to capture weddings in a way that feels relaxed, real, and quietly cinematic. To capture the story of your love without script or pose; candid, open, truthfully you.

This is exactly what draws me to photographing weddings. Each day has its own rhythm, each couple has their own energy; though each shares the connecting thread of pure joy and abundant love.
For that reason, I like to embrace each day as it happens. I’ll never arrive with a rigid plan or a list of poses for you. For the most part, I’ll blend into the background, observing, anticipating, and capturing moments as they unfold.
Many couples have told me that they quickly forget I’m there at all – which is the highest compliment. When it’s helpful, I’ll offer gentle direction but I know that being photographed can feel unfamiliar so I want you to feel as relaxed, present, and able to enjoy your day as possible.
My approach is rooted in storytelling, and subtly influenced by fine art. Considered composition, soft lighting, imagery that feels full of life but free of time – honest, not trendy – meaningful moments of your day captured quietly.

I frequently take my summers in London, photographing weddings in Kent, London and further afield. Despite my home no longer being here, the familiar landscapes still feel like home and I love returning for the joy and energy of a good British wedding.

Of all the work I do, weddings remain the most meaningful.
Photographing your wedding isn’t about simply recording who was there, or what the day looked like. It’s about preserving the feeling of the day itself, which is something so unique to weddings.
It’s always the quiet frames from these days that stay with me. The pause just before the music begins. A shaft of sunlight catching the colours of your bouquet through an open window. A nervous laugh tucked into someone’s shoulder. These moments aren’t planned, but they reveal the day in its entirety, including the parts you never saw because you were so beautifully immersed in it.
I find that they tell your story far more honestly than any perfectly posed photograph ever could.
