Hi, I’m Sam, and as a British photographer based in Tokyo, my passion is creating honest, timeless imagery in the most beautiful nature-rich settings across Japan, the UK and beyond. Think of the stolen glances, the movement, the mood. I work primarily across Japan, with regular trips back to the UK and occasional detours to Thailand. I’ve always been drawn to stories, to light, and to places that feel full of meaning. That’s what I try to reflect in every image.

Thinking about eloping in Japan?
Japan is made for elopements. Quiet shrines, misty forests, hidden mountain trails, it’s a country full of atmosphere, meaning and stillness. Whether you're drawn to Mount Fuji, Kyoto’s old streets, or the countryside just beyond Tokyo, there are endless places to make your day feel truly your own.
I photograph elopements across Japan and also help plan them when needed, working with local vendors, scouting spots, and building the day around what matters most to you. No stress, no fuss, just a thoughtful adventure captured as it unfolds.
Where your love goes, I follow
While I’m based in Tokyo for most of the year, I also shoot weddings and elopements across the UK, as well as occasionally in Thailand. Summers often take me back to Kent and London, and I’m always open to travelling for the right story.
I’ve spent much of my adult life in Asia and speak fluent Thai, with a growing grasp of Japanese. That cross-cultural experience helps things run smoothly, whether we’re coordinating with local vendors or just navigating a quiet moment in a new place.

Weddings are full of energy, movement and moments you can’t plan. My job is to quietly follow that flow, to capture the feeling of the day, the story unfolding, and everything in between.
Although Japan is my home for most of the year, I regularly photograph weddings in the UK and sometimes further afield. Whether it's a garden celebration in Kent or something a little more offbeat in Tokyo, I’m all about keeping things relaxed, personal, and true to you.
